She’s Got Your Number
It seems to me that there is a general trend in the in our society; and that is the women are a little more open minded and willing to take chance on something new.
Recently I have run across several examples that would lead me to believe that women are a little ahead of the men when it comes to taking advantage of golf conditioning.
For example, a few weeks back I watched a some of the Women's US Open and during that time the commentators were discussing the fitness regimens of both Julie Inkster (#4 rank) and Annika Sorenstam (#2 rank). They emphasized how important fitness is to both ladies, especially since they are “senior” members of the LPGA. Annika was the eventual winner and Inkster came in 6th.
The other night on FitTV, Gabrielle Reece was interviewing young LPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis (#14 rank). She was concerned her conditioning program was going to make her weaker, and stated that she actually "Wanted to get stronger and more powerful". I have never heard that come out of a male golfer’s mouth and we all know there than a few that could use it.
So all you guys out there consider the gauntlet thrown and the challenge made to get up off you butt and get to work, and maybe someday you'll be able to keep up with the ladies.
